Curriculum for Excellence at Channelkirk
What does it mean for your child?
This session, after
feedback from parents and children, members of staff are looking more closely
at PLP’s and how effective they are at informing you of what and how your child
is learning. We will discuss PLP’s on
the 13th November but until then, we would like to share with you,
the learning experiences your child will be given in social subjects and how
they will link to other areas of the curriculum.
‘Social studies,
experiences and outcomes encourage links with other areas of learning to
provide learners with a deeper, more enjoyable and active experience.
The promotion of
active citizenship is a central feature of learning in social studies as
children and young people develop skills and knowledge to enable and encourage
participation.’ Cfe social studies principles and practice
Our new topic
overview will show the experiences your child will be working through this
term.
If you can help in
any area please let us know. Eg, reading
stories, art, building etc
